Species Description
**Description:** A graceful, fork-tailed swallow with a metallic deep blue back and warm tawny-orange underparts.
**Size & Weight:** 5.9–7.5 inches long. Weighs 0.6–0.7 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males have more iridescent blue backs and longer outer tail feathers than females.
**Behavior:** Incredible aerial acrobats that catch thousands of flies and mosquitoes mid-air. They build cup-shaped mud nests on buildings or cliffs.
**Habitat:** Open areas near water, campgrounds, and boat launches.
