Species Description

**Description:** A small songbird with a mossy-green back, bright yellow face, and a distinct, large jet-black throat and bib.
**Size & Weight:** 4.3–5.1 inches long. Weighs 0.3 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males have a solid black throat; females have a much smaller or mottled black patch.
**Behavior:** Tireless singer whose buzzy song is often described as "trees-trees-murmuring-trees." Primarily stays in the high forest canopy.
**Habitat:** Highly associated with coniferous and mixed forests, particularly hemlock groves.
