Species Description

**Description:** A mossy-green songbird with a distinct blue-gray head and crisp white "spectacles" (eye rings).
**Size & Weight:** 5.1–5.9 inches long. Weighs 0.5–0.7 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Monomorphic; sexes are identical.
**Behavior:** Highly musical and methodical foragers that move slowly along branches. Strong association with Eastern Hemlock for nesting.
**Habitat:** Mature mixed forests and hemlock ravines; the first vireo to return in spring.
