Species Description

**Description:** A hardy, medium-sized feline named for its short, "bobbed" tail. They feature distinctive black-tufted ears and a facial ruff of fur that resembles sideburns.
**Size & Weight:** 26–41 inches long. Males weigh 14–40 lbs; females weigh 8–33 lbs.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males are generally larger than females, but both possess the same spotted/streaked coat for camouflage.
**Life Cycle:** Kittens are born in spring (April–May) with well-defined spots. They remain with the mother for nearly a year to learn hunting skills.
**Habitat:** Secretive and solitary; they prefer rocky outcrops, thickets, and deep forest interiors where they hunt rabbits and rodents.
