Species Description

**Description:** A large, stunning damselfly with a metallic jewel-green body and wings featuring dark, smoky patches at the tips.
**Size:** 1.6 to 2.1 inches long.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males have solid dark wing tips; females have a white spot (stigma) near the wing tip.
**Behavior:** Flutters wings slowly like a butterfly. Males perform elaborate "wing-flicking" displays to attract mates.
**Habitat:** Edges of the Allegheny River and larger, sunlit forest streams.
