**Description:** A slender, nearly translucent fish with a bright silver stripe on its side and an elongated, "beak-like" snout.

**Behavior:** Surface-dwelling fish that are often seen skipping across the water to escape predators or catch small flies.
**Identification:** Look for the upward-pointing mouth and the needle-thin body profile.
