Species Description
**Description:** A hardy trout with golden-brown sides and large spots surrounded by pale halos; originally from Europe.
**Size & Weight:** Typically 12–20 inches; "trophy" individuals in the reservoir can exceed 10 lbs.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males develop a more pronounced kype (hooked jaw) than females during the autumn spawn.
**Behavior:** Highly nocturnal and wary; large adults often hide under undercut banks during the day.
**Habitat:** Wild and self-sustaining in the Allegheny River and deeper sections of larger tributaries.
