**Description:** A slender, toothy predator with a distinct chain-like pattern of dark lines on a green-gold body.
**Size & Weight:** Typically 14–22 inches. Weighs 1–4 lbs.
**Behavior:** Often called "Gunfish" due to their explosive speed when lunging from weeds. They feature a dark, vertical "tear drop" mark beneath the eye.
**Habitat:** Heavily vegetated coves of the reservoir and quiet forest ponds.
