Cinnamon Fern

Species Description
**Description:** A large, primitive fern named for the woolly, cinnamon-colored fertile fronds that emerge from the center of the plant.
**Size:** Grows 2 to 4 feet tall.
**Identification:** Look for the separate, spike-like cinnamon fronds. The base of the green sterile fronds is covered in thick white "fuzz."
**Wildlife Value:** Hummingbirds frequently use the "fuzz" from the stems to line their tiny nests.
**Habitat:** Common in wet woods, bogs, and along shaded stream banks.
