Species Description
**Description:** A venomous pit viper with a solid coppery-red head and "Hershey Kiss" or hourglass patterns on its sides.
**Size:** Typically 24–36 inches long.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Females grow longer than males, but males have proportionally longer tails.
**Habitat:** Masters of camouflage found in fallen leaves and near rocky outcrops.
**Behavior:** Generally non-aggressive unless provoked; they use heat-sensing pits to locate warm-blooded prey.
