Species Description

**Description:** A spring wildflower with white blossoms that look like tiny pairs of hanging pantaloons or breeches.
**Size:** Grows 6 to 12 inches tall.
**Identification:** Look for the lacy, fern-like foliage and the distinct "V" shaped flowers.
**Behavior:** Spring ephemerals that disappear shortly after the forest canopy leaves arrive. They rely entirely on early-emerging bumblebee queens for pollination.
