Species Description

**Description:** A medium-sized, aggressive dragonfly; mature males are powdery sky blue, while females and young males are vibrant leaf-green.
**Size:** 1.4 to 1.8 inches long.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Extreme. Males turn blue with age; females remain a camouflaged green with black abdomen markings.
**Behavior:** Known as the "hawks" of the dragonfly world; they aggressively chase away larger dragonflies and hunt gnats.
**Habitat:** Common along the sun-drenched margins of ponds, marshes, and the reservoir.
