Species Description
**Description:** A large, secretive member of the weasel family with dark brown-to-black fur and a long, bushy tail making up a third of its length.
**Size & Weight:** 30–47 inches long. Males weigh 8–13 lbs; females weigh 4–6 lbs.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males are significantly larger and heavier than females.
**Behavior:** One of the few predators that successfully hunts porcupines. Despite their name, they rarely eat fish, preferring squirrels and rabbits.
**Habitat:** Forest-interior specialists that require large tracts of mature timber.
