Species Description
**Description:** A massive, prehistoric-looking fish with a broad, flattened head and a lower jaw that protrudes further than the upper jaw.
**Size & Weight:** Can exceed 40 inches and weigh over 50 lbs.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Females generally grow larger and live longer than males.
**Behavior:** Unlike other catfish, they are almost strictly live-bait hunters. They are solitary apex predators that live for over 20 years.
**Habitat:** Hide in deep holes or under sunken logs in the reservoir during the day.
