Species Description

**Description:** Small, nocturnal squirrel with huge dark eyes and a furry membrane (patagium) stretching from wrists to ankles.
**Size & Weight:** 10–13 inches long. Weighs 3–5 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males and females are identical in size and appearance.
**Behavior:** They glide rather than fly, steered by a flat, rudder-like tail. Remarkably, they glow "bubblegum pink" under ultraviolet (UV) light.
**Habitat:** Rare / Species of Concern. Prefers old-growth coniferous and mixed forests.
