**Description:** A small, delicate fern with feathery light green fronds; among the first to appear in spring.
**Size:** Fronds are 4 to 10 inches long.
**Behavior:** Named "Fragile" because the thin fronds break easily. They may go dormant during dry spells and "resurrect" with autumn rains.
**Identification:** Features a brittle, succulent green-to-yellow stem.
**Habitat:** Moist, shaded sandstone boulders and near waterfalls.
