Species Description

**Description:** A slow-moving, cylindrical "tank" of the forest floor. They are dark gray or black with reddish-pink edges on each segment.
**Size:** Can grow up to 4 inches long.
**Behavior:** Gentle vegetarians that act as "shredders," breaking down leaf litter into nutrient-rich soil. When threatened, they curl into a tight spiral to protect their underside.
**Identification:** They have two pairs of legs per body segment; most individuals have between 40 and 400 legs total.
**Habitat:** Found among decaying leaves, logs, and moist soil.
