**Description:** A slate-gray mimic bird with a distinct black cap and a hidden patch of bright rufous (cinnamon) beneath the tail.
**Size & Weight:** 8–9.5 inches long. Weighs 0.8–1.3 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Monomorphic; sexes look identical.
**Behavior:** Famous for its sharp, kitten-like "meow" call. Like Mockingbirds, they are mimics but sing long, rambling strings of notes without repetition.
**Habitat:** Densely tangled thickets and shrubby forest edges near water.
