Species Description

**Description:** A small gray butterfly with bright orange spots and tiny "tails" on its hindwings that mimic antennae.
**Size:** Wingspan of 1 to 1.25 inches.
**Behavior:** Uses its "fake antennae" tails to trick predators into attacking the wings instead of the actual head. Frequently rubs its hindwings together while perched.
**Life Cycle:** Adaptable species that uses a wide variety of host plants, including clovers and mallows.
**Habitat:** Common in meadows, forest edges, and along the reservoir.
