Green Frog

Species Description
**Description:** A medium-sized, common pond frog featuring two distinct ridges (dorsolateral folds) running down its back from the eye to the hip.
**Size:** 2 to 3.5 inches in length.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** In males, the eardrum (tympanum) is larger than the eye and the throat is yellow; in females, the eardrum is smaller and the throat is white.
**Behavior:** Their call sounds like the "pluck" of a loose banjo string. When startled, they often emit a short "squeak" as they dive into the water.
**Habitat:** Found in nearly every body of water, from the edges of the reservoir to small garden ponds.
