Species Description

**Description:** A fascinating diurnal (day-flying) moth that hovers mid-air and mimics a hummingbird.
**Size:** Wingspan of 1.5 to 2.2 inches.
**Identification:** Features an olive-green back and reddish-maroon abdominal bands. Wings are clear in the center with dark borders.
**Behavior:** Wings move so fast they create a humming sound. They use a long proboscis to drink nectar while hovering.
**Habitat:** Meadows and forest edges where Honeysuckle is in bloom.
