**Description:** A graceful woodland wildflower with hanging, twisted yellow bells and stems that appear to pierce through the leaves.
**Size:** 12 to 20 inches tall.
**Life Cycle:** Seeds have a fatty attachment (elaiosome) and are dispersed by ants.
**Identification:** Larger and more showy than the Sessile Bellwort; the leaves are distinctly "pierced" by the stem.
**Habitat:** Rich deciduous woods; often found in the company of Blue Cohosh and Trillium.
