Species Description
**Description:** A breathtaking pale-green moth with long trailing hindwing tails and four distinct eyespots designed to confuse predators.
**Size:** Wingspan of 3 to 4.5 inches.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males possess much larger, wider, feathery antennae used to detect female pheromones from miles away.
**Life Cycle:** The larva is a plump, lime-green caterpillar with pinkish spots and yellow lines. Adults lack a mouth and digestive system; they do not eat and live only 7โ10 days to find a mate.
**Habitat:** Deciduous forests containing host trees such as Walnut, Hickory, or Birch.
