**Description:** A soft-winged beetle with a yellow-orange body and a large black spot on its head and thorax.
**Size:** 0.4 to 0.6 inches long.
**Behavior:** Essential pollinators that also prey on smaller insects. Their bright warning coloration signals to predators that they may be toxic.
**Identification:** Often seen resting on Goldenrod or Queen Anne’s Lace during mid-summer.
**Habitat:** Common in meadows and forest openings.
