Species Description
**Description:** A delicate-looking but hardy wetland fern with light green, deeply divided fronds. Known for tilting its leaflets to track the sun.
**Size:** Fronds typically grow 12–24 inches tall.
**Identification:** Fronds grow singly along a creeping black rhizome. The lowest pair of leaflets are not significantly smaller than the rest.
**Habitat:** Sun-drenched marshes, wet meadows, and boggy reservoir margins.
**Behavior:** One of the few ferns that thrives in full sunlight as long as the soil remains saturated.
