Species Description

**Description:** A rare, cold-water specialist frog that emits a distinct odor similar to rotting onions or mink musk when handled.
**Size:** 1.75 to 2.75 inches long.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males have larger eardrums than eyes; in females, they are the same size.
**Conservation:** Rare / Species of Concern. Highly sensitive to water temperature increases and chemical runoff.
**Habitat:** Restricted to lily pad ponds and slow-moving streams in the highest, coolest parts of the plateau.
