Species Description
**Description:** One of the region's largest moths, with grey forewings hiding beautiful crimson-and-blue hindwing patches.
**Size:** Wingspan of 3.5 to 5 inches.
**Behavior:** Also known as the "Big Poplar Sphinx." Mimics a dead leaf during the day and flashes colorful hindwings to startle predators.
**Life Cycle:** Larvae are large green caterpillars with a small tail horn, feeding on Willow and Poplar.
**Habitat:** River valleys and reservoir banks.
