Species Description

**Description:** A day-flying moth with dark brown wings and two bright yellow bands across its abdomen; a highly effective bee mimic.
**Size:** Wingspan of 1.5 to 2.2 inches.
**Behavior:** When hovering at flowers, they look and sound remarkably like a large bumblebee. They are fast, energetic fliers.
**Life Cycle:** Caterpillars feed on Wild Grape and Virginia Creeper.
**Habitat:** Forest openings and meadows.
