Species Description
**Description:** A bright yellow songbird that remains closely associated with mature pine and hemlock stands throughout the year.
**Size & Weight:** 4.7–5.5 inches long. Weighs 0.3–0.5 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males are bright yellow with olive-green backs and two white wing bars; females are much duller and more olive-gray.
**Behavior:** Methodical foragers that creep along pine branches. One of the earliest warblers to nest, often starting in April.
**Habitat:** Mature stands of White Pine and Pitch Pine; rarely found in pure deciduous woods.
