Eastern Pipistrelle (Tricolored Bat)

Species Description
**Description:** One of the smallest bats in the region, identified by "tricolored" fur: gray at the base, yellow in the middle, and brown at the tip.
**Size & Weight:** 2.9–3.5 inches long with a 7–9 inch wingspan. Weighs roughly 0.2–0.3 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Females are generally slightly larger than males.
**Conservation:** Rare / Species of Concern. Populations have been devastated by White-Nose Syndrome.
**Habitat:** Forest openings and edges; often the first bats to emerge at sunset with erratic, moth-like flight.
