Species Description

**Identification:** Features a soft, velvet-like texture; thick woolly hairs help the plant reflect harsh sunlight and conserve moisture in exposed areas.
**Habits:** A pioneer species that colonizes bare, sandy soils where other plants struggle.
**Habitat:** Sandy reservoir shorelines and dry, disturbed soils of log landings.
