Species Description

**Description:** A beautiful, streamlined fish with a pinkish-red iridescent stripe along its side and small black spots on the fins and tail.
**Size & Weight:** Typically 10–20 inches; can reach over 30 inches in the reservoir.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males develop a hooked lower jaw (kype) and more intense coloration during spawning.
**Behavior:** Famous for an "acrobatic" fighting style, often leaping from the water when hooked. They are active hunters of aquatic insects.
**Habitat:** Stocked in the reservoir and larger tributaries; more tolerant of varying temperatures than Brook Trout.
