Species Description
**Description:** The longest snake in the region; solid, shiny black as adults with a white chin and throat. Juveniles are heavily blotched and resemble copperheads.
**Size:** Typically 3.5 to 6 feet in length.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males are generally longer and have proportionally longer tails than females.
**Behavior:** Non-venomous constrictors that are world-class climbers; they are frequently found high in trees hunting for birds and eggs.
**Habitat:** Mature hardwood forests and rocky slopes.
