Northern Ring-necked Snake

Species Description
**Description:** A small, slender snake with smooth blue-gray scales and a vibrant yellow or orange ring around its neck.
**Size:** 10 to 15 inches long.
**Behavior:** Secretive and primarily nocturnal. When threatened, they curl their tail into a tight corkscrew to show a bright reddish underside.
**Identification:** Features a solid, un-patterned gray back and a perfectly contrasting yellow collar.
**Habitat:** Under logs, rocks, and leaf litter in moist deciduous forests.
