**Description:** A rare and dainty woodland orchid featuring a single, nearly circular leaf at the base and a spike of small white-and-purple flowers.
**Size:** Grows 4 to 10 inches tall.
**Identification:** Rare / Species of Concern. Look for the lone, succulent leaf sitting flat against the ground and 3 to 15 intricate blossoms on a leafless stalk.
**Habits:** Extremely secretive and sensitive to habitat changes; blooms for a very short period in late spring.
**Habitat:** Damp, mossy coniferous forests and limestone-rich seepages.
