Species Description
**Description:** A spectacular orange and grey moth; the adult stage of the "Hickory Horned Devil" caterpillar.
**Size:** Wingspan of 4 to 6 inches.
**Conservation:** Rare / Species of Concern. Finding one in the ANF is a significant biological event, as they have declined elsewhere.
**Life Cycle:** The caterpillar is the largest in North America, featuring huge orange horns, but it is completely harmless.
**Habitat:** Rich hardwood forests containing Hickory and Walnut.
