**Description:** A tiny, olive-green songbird with a bold white eye-ring and a hidden red crown patch.
**Size & Weight:** 3.5–4.5 inches long. Weighs roughly 0.2 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Only the male possesses the scarlet crown patch, which is flashed during courtship or territorial disputes.
**Behavior:** Extremely high-energy; identified by a constant, nervous flicking of the wings while foraging.
**Habitat:** Prefers coniferous forests, especially tall spruce and hemlock stands on the plateau.
