Species Description
**Description:** An early spring bloomer with sharply pointed leaf lobes; flowers range from white to deep violet.
**Size:** 3 to 6 inches tall.
**Identification:** Similar to Round-lobed Hepatica but distinguished by leaf lobes that come to a sharp point. Stems are often very fuzzy.
**Behavior:** One of the few plants that keep its leaves through winter to get a head start on spring photosynthesis.
**Habitat:** Well-drained, rocky slopes and hardwood forests.
