Species Description

**Description:** A small, gentle snake featuring a brilliant, uniform emerald-green color and smooth scales.
**Size:** 12 to 20 inches long.
**Conservation:** Rare / Species of Concern. Extremely well-camouflaged; they turn blue shortly after death as the yellow pigment fades.
**Behavior:** They feed almost entirely on spiders and soft-bodied insects. They are very docile and rarely bite when handled.
**Habitat:** Open grassy meadows, forest clearings, and marsh edges.
