Species Description
**Description:** A medium-sized dragonfly with a pale blue abdomen and distinct white wing spots (stigma).
**Size:** 1.5 to 1.8 inches long.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males develop a powdery blue color (pruinescence) on the abdomen; females and juveniles are brown.
**Behavior:** Often seen perching on the very tips of reeds or twigs with their wings held forward in a distinctive pose.
**Habitat:** Quiet, sun-drenched edges of beaver ponds and forest clearings.
