**Description:** Hairy black caterpillars with a white back stripe and blue spots; the larvae of the Eastern Tent Caterpillar Moth.
**Size:** Caterpillars reach 2 inches; adult moths have a 1.5 inch wingspan.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Adult female moths are larger and lighter in color than males.
**Life Cycle:** Larvae build communal silk "tents" in tree crotches that act as greenhouses to stay warm in early spring.
**Habitat:** Wild Cherry and Apple trees along forest edges.
