Species Description

**Description:** Iconic yellow butterfly with black "tiger" stripes and long tails on the hindwings.
**Size:** Wingspan of 3 to 5.5 inches.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males are always yellow; some females exhibit a "dark morph" (mostly black) to mimic the poisonous Pipevine Swallowtail.
**Behavior:** Powerful fliers often seen "puddling" in groups around mud puddles to drink minerals from the soil.
**Habitat:** Common in forest edges, meadows, and the forest canopy.
