Species Description
**Description:** A large, powerful bird of prey; adults have a dark brown body with a brilliant white head and tail.
**Size & Weight:** 28–40 inches long with a wingspan up to 7.5 feet. Weighs 6–14 lbs.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Females are significantly larger and heavier than males.
**Behavior:** Primarily fish-eaters that are frequently seen near the Kinzua Dam. They build massive stick nests, often used for many consecutive years.
**Habitat:** Mature trees near the Allegheny River and Reservoir; common year-round.
