Species Description
**Description:** A slender, yellowish-brown salamander with two distinct dark stripes running from its eyes to its tail.
**Size:** 2.5 to 4.7 inches long.
**Behavior:** Extremely fast and agile; usually found under flat rocks right at the water's edge.
**Life Cycle:** Larvae are gilled and can stay in the water for up to three years before transforming into adults.
**Habitat:** Small, cold mountain seepages and spring-fed brooks.
