**Description:** A stocky songbird with a brilliant yellow throat and chest and bold white "spectacles" around the eyes.
**Size & Weight:** 5.1–5.9 inches long. Weighs 0.6–0.7 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Monomorphic; males and females are identical in appearance.
**Behavior:** They move slowly and deliberately through the canopy, often hanging upside down to glean insects. They possess a rich, husky song composed of two-syllable phrases.
**Habitat:** Mature deciduous forests with tall trees; they prefer the upper canopy layer.
