Species Description

**Description:** A small, brilliant yellow songbird featuring dark eyes and a thin, pointed beak.
**Size & Weight:** 4.5–5 inches long. Weighs roughly 0.3 oz.
**Sexual Dimorphism:** Males have bright reddish-brown streaks on their chest; females are a plain, uniform yellow.
**Behavior:** Known for a "sweet, sweet, sweet, I'm so sweet" song. They are clever defenders, sometimes building new nest layers to bury Cowbird eggs.
**Habitat:** Shrubby wetlands and thickets near water, such as Buzzard Swamp.
